Alicia Dakteris

At a young age, Alicia’s father wanted her to grow up to be an architect. However, things didn’t quite turn out according to Papa’s plan.

Instead of architecture, Alicia set out to pursue her own path and studied fine arts for five years, graduating with a degree in Graphic Design.

A bilingual marketing professional with more than 20 years of experience in design and advertising for both English and Hispanic markets in the US as well as Global markets.

After launching her own ad agency, she began working on worldwide accounts. Alicia’s career took her to live in Lima, Mexico City, London and Los Angeles. Along the way, she visited many other countries for both business and pleasure, taking in the aesthetic influences of architectural spaces, colors, and textures wherever she went.

Alicia Dakteris approaches interior design from a variety of perspectives that help her bring a fresh outlook to each home. She draws from a diverse background, having lived and worked in four different countries, while serving a range of businesses from fashion and beauty to real estate, high-tech, telecom and consumer goods.

In 2018, the world of architecture suddenly took on renewed significance for Alicia. That’s when she met a truly special, award-winning architect, Karl Dakteris, who would become her partner in life as well as business.

After the two married, Alicia’s knack for easily reading plans and elevations amazed Karl. She started sharing her perspectives based on her past experiences remodeling four previous homes. Before long, the two began to team up by working on several projects together.

“I love talking to clients and hearing about their vision for an interior, then bringing that vision to life in their home,” Alicia says.

“Design is a delicate and important process. As a designer, I always remind myself that the house is about you—the homeowner. It’s about what makes you happy and fulfills your needs and expectations.

“It’s always gratifying to see someone pleased with the results, when their dream home really comes alive.”

Alicia and her husband, Karl, live in Newport Beach and have two sons and a daughter. When not busy bringing beautiful interiors to life, Alicia likes to get outdoors, biking and running at the beach. She also enjoys designing her own line of handbags, as well as spending time with friends and family.
